UNCG to the Feature Lady Bizness as Guest Speaker for Enterpreneur Day

Chisa D. Pennix-Brown, MBA CEO of Lady Bizness will be a featured guest speaker at the UNCG Entrepreneur Day on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 2-4:50 pm at Gatewood Studio Arts Center Room 204. She will be bringing her wealth of knowledge on business startup, development, entrepreneurial mindset and branding yourself using the 90 Day Focus method from her best selling book, "The 90 Day Focus: Your Action Plan for Success."

History:

Since 2012, approximately 50 classes with 2,000+ students have hosted speakers each year

110 different faculty members teaching in 51 different subject areas have hosted 142 different guest speakers.

Goals for 2017:

  • Introduce thousands of students to successful entrepreneurs in their classrooms on one day, Tuesday, October 31, 2017
  • Engage 100+ alumni, regional business and non-profit executives in meaningful experiences with students

 

Benefits:

  • Students – Receive exposure to new potential career paths, opportunities and connections
  • Guest speakers– An easy way to give back and get to know our students and faculty
  • Faculty – An easy way to add a guest speaker with content relevant to courses
  • UNCG Alumni Relations, Development and Career Services Staff– A great way to engage alumni and friends

Structure:

  • Successful guest speakers sharing their experiences with classes in solo presentations and panel discussions
  • Registration, lunch and networking all day at the Alumni House for guests, faculty and student volunteers
  • All planning and logistics coordinated by the NC Entrepreneurship Center, Alumni Relations and Career Services
  • Faculty members from all disciplines recruited during the fall semester
  • Guest speakers recruited early in spring semester based on faculty interests and course content
